On December 12 he mentions a future report for the city council "[] I sent you last night a proof of my memoir, so that you could write down your corrections. I hope that you will have been able to do so in the morning, so that I will be able [] to give the good to print tomorrow morning, in view of the city council on Friday. - I assume that you have been able to read to the Emperor pages 37 to 43, which are the only ones of interest to him. If not, it will only be on Friday evening that I could send him a copy () "; (n.d.) Interesting letter with a touch of irony, in which he evokes his last misadventure " [] I am definitely treated like a sovereign. Osman-Pacha is not enough anymore; I am put in the rank of the sultan or rather of the Tzar: it is claimed that I am devoted to the assassination! "I should be able to send you some interesting news, because we are walking twice a day at least, with a personage who is of particular importance at the moment, I mean with H.M. The King of Prussia. But although he talks a lot and with many people, I know nothing more than what your newspapers say, as well as some local gossip - such as these Bismarck arrives at 11:00 a.m. - Benedetti arrived yesterday - Everyone here is quite surprised - The King can't believe it - These Frenchmen () are having a German quarrel []]"
