Clock allegory of trade in chased and gilt bronze and brown patina representing the god Hermes leaning on a cotton ball with the attributes of trade. The enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, set on an entablature with cut-off sides decorated with a frieze of Putti unloading cargoes with trophies in reserve, set on 4 spinning top feet. France early 19th century. 38.5 x 30x9 cm. Small gap at the end of the caduceus and visible slit and glare in the enamel.
