Important and fine tapestry Oudenaarde (Flanders) End of XVIth-beginning of XVIIth century From the story of Agamemnon, tapestry in silk and wool. History relating the murder of the king Agamemnon by his wife Clytemnestra to avenge the sacrifice of Iphigenia. Agamemnon finds death at the exit of the bath. Clytemnestra presents him with a tunic without a hole and taking advantage of his embarrassment when he engages the head, Aegisthe coldly assassinates him. Clytemnestra is on the right in the border. Agamemnon is half naked, Aegisthe is on the right of Agamemnon with a sword at his side while carrying a censer. The mountains of the Ardennes can be seen in the background.
