Very important and exceptional old meched, Northwest Persia, late 19th century Wool velvet on cotton foundation Midnight-blue field decorated with scrolls and garlands of a thousand stylized flowers in the form of popped diamonds, adorned with a large central polylobed ruby, ivory and pale green rosette with a crown of starry flowers. Four parma spandrels with floral bulbs finely drawn in polychrome. Seven borders, the main one ruby with multicolored cartouche semis inlaid with flowering palmettes. Maintenance restorations Some oxidation and slight natural wear 498 x 352 cm
